Panama City Beach Pier Park
We left home on Monday, May 17, and leisurely drove the 508 miles to Panama City, Florida with an overnight stop along the way in Ozark, Alabama. We arrived in Panama City at Saint Andrews State Park mid-morning on May 18, checked in, quickly setup, and began to enjoy our week's stay. The park was very nice with large sites offering lots of privacy along with beautiful views of the Grand Lagoon. While Florida is hot and humid, and even hotter than usual for the time of year during our stay, there was almost always a nice cool breeze coming off the ocean. We did encounter a lot of road construction on our trip down as well as in Panama City, and we were glad we were not there during peak tourist season so that we were able to avoid most of the crowds. We enjoyed our stay, however, we plan to try the Santa Rosa/Destin areas on our next Florida trip.

This was our first trip for the 2010 season, but we plan to take several more short trips throughout the summer and into the fall.
