Days of Pumpkins’ Jubilee!

Every year since 1986 around mid-month of October (this year: 10/11-14) the city of KIKINDA (Serbia) celebrates one of the largest Pumpkins raised in the country! How large? Well, the story goes, if you stand on top of one of those Pumpkins you could see KIKINDA from as far away as…… (okay, may not be all the way from Nashville, TN) but for sure it would be possible to see the city from my home town Ostojicevo (20 miles distance)!:)

So, remember to visit the festival of pumpkins in Kikinda, and don’t forget your cameras to capture your everlasting memories.

48 god. od polaska u neizvesnost...

Kao i svake godine od 1964, 10ti septembar je nekako urezan u mojoj podsvesti da i bez podsetnika elektronskim putem, nesto me emotivno 'zicne' na dan kada sam posao na deset dana turistickog putovanja kroz deo Evrope da bi se samo zavrsilo na kratko i nastavilo daleko dalje u drugom 'aranzmanu' sve do danasnjeg dana.

Kako je bilo?  Kao sto ona narodna poslovice kaze (kolko me jos secanje sluzi); - bilo i proslo i ostalo da se pripoveda (lalinska verzija:), samo u mom slucaju mojim sinovima i unucadimo to je moguce samo na engleskom, dok se 'po naski' ta pripovetka moze naci u prevodu u mojoj  nedavno objavljenoj knjizi (PDF izdanje), pa ko voli, nek izvoli.
